The Rooted Life is a little corner of the internet where faith, college life, creativity, and big dreams come together. Here, I’m sharing the things I’m learning along the way—from Bible journaling and growing in my faith to navigating college, preparing for a future in physical therapy, discovering new favorites, and figuring out this beautiful, sometimes messy season of life. My hope is that this space encourages you, inspires you, and reminds you to stay rooted in what matters most.

Faith, Lifestyle, College, Creativity, Personal Growth
An introduction to The Rooted Life—why I created this space, how it connects to Rooted In Grace Designs, and what you can expect as we walk together through faith, college life, creativity, lifestyle, and personal growth.
Hi, I'm Kaylee! I'm so glad you're here. 🤍
If you're new here, let me introduce myself. I'm a college student, a Christian, a creative, a future physical therapist, and the person behind Rooted in Grace Designs. I'm currently finishing my degree in Allied Health Sciences and working towards my goal of becoming a physical therapist. Along the way, I've discovered that life doesn't always look as organized or put-together as we hope it will - and honestly, I'm still figuring a lot of it out myself.
My faith is a huge part of who I am. I love spending time in God's Word, Bible Journaling, serving my church, and finding little ways to bring faith into my everyday life. But I also know that being a Christian doesn't mean every day is easy. There are days when I feel motivated and close to God, and there are days where I feel overwhelmed, distracted, or unsure of what comes next. I'm learning that being rooted in Christ doesn't mean having everything figured out. It means knowing where to turn when I don't.
I'm also a very creative person. I've always loved designing, creating things, and turning an idea in my head into something I can actually see. That love for creativity eventually grew into Rooted in Grace Designs, where I create designs and resources for churches, small businesses, and others who want to share their message in a meaningful way.
And then there's college life. Between classes, studying, work, church, friendships, future career plans, and everything else that comes with being a young adult, life can get pretty busy. Some days I feel like I have everything under control, and other days I'm just trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do next.
That's part of why I wanted to create The Rooted Life.
I wanted a space where all these different parts of my life could come together - my faith, college, creativity, future career, and the everyday things I'm learning along the way.
I didn't want this to be a blog where I pretend to have everything figured out. I want it to be a place where I can share what I'm learning while I'm actually living it.
Here, I'll talk about faith and growing closer to Christ, Bible journaling, college life, preparing for physical therapy school, creativity, lifestyle, and even some of my favorite finds and recommendations.
Some posts might be deeply faith-focused. Others might be about something I'm learning in college, a Bible journaling idea I love, a product that made my life easier, or something I've been thinking about lately.
Basically, The Rooted Life is a little bit of everything that makes up this season of my life.
And if you're in a similar season, I hope you'll feel like you have a place here too.
The word rooted is really important to me.
When I think about being rooted, I think about a tree. You can see the branches, leaves, and everything growing above the ground, but what keeps that tree standing is what you can't see - the roots underneath.
I think our lives are a lot like that.
We can have goals, dreams, careers, relationships, accomplishments, creativity, and so many things happening on the outside. But if we aren't rooted in the right foundation, it's easy to feel lost when life gets difficult.
For me, that foundation is Christ.
I want The Rooted Life to be a reminder that we can continue to grow without forgetting our roots. We can chase our dreams while trusting God with the outcome. We can work hard in college without letting our grades define us. We can have big career goals while remembering that our identity isn't found in a job title. We can be creative without feeling like everything has to be perfect.
We can grow - and still stay rooted.
As The Rooted Life grows, you'll find posts about:

Bible journaling turns quiet time into a creative, personal conversation with God.
Bible journaling ideas, Scripture reflections, devotional thoughts, prayer, and encouragement for growing closer to Christ.

Gentle structure and small rhythms can turn a hectic semester into intentional, rooted days.
The realities of college, studying organized, balancing responsibilities, friendships, faith on campus, and figuring out what's next.

Preparing for physical therapy blends discipline, curiosity, and a heart to serve others well.
My experience preparing for physical therapy school, navigating prerequisites, applications, studying, observations, and working toward a healthcare career.
Creative projects, design inspiration, Canva ideas, church resources, and some behind-the-scenes looks at Rooted in Grace Designs.
Everyday routines, organization, things I'm learning, favorite products, helpful finds, and the little things that make life easier or more enjoyable.
Right now, I'm in a season of transition.
I'm finishing college, preparing for the next steps in my education, building my small business, growing in my faith, and figuring out what this next chapter will look like.
There are definitely things I'm excited about. Some things make me nervous.
I'm learning that it's okay not to know exactly what everything will look like yet.
Sometimes we want God to show us the entire plan before we're willing to take the next step. But I'm learning that faith doesn't always work that way. Sometimes God gives us enough light for the step we're standing on, and we have to trust Him with the rest.
So that's where I am right now - learning, growing, dreaming, creating, praying, and taking things one step at a time.
And that's what I want The Rooted Life to be about.
Not perfection.
Not having everything together.
Just growing in grace and staying rooted in Christ through it all.
If you're also in a season of figuring things out, I hope you'll stick around.
Maybe you're in college. Maybe you're trying to figure out your career. Maybe you're growing in your faith. Maybe you love Bible journaling and creativity. Maybe you're just trying to navigate life one day at a time.
Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you're here.
I hope The Rooted Life becomes a place where you can find encouragement, inspiration, practical ideas, and maybe even a little reminder that you aren't alone in whatever season you're walking through.
Thank you for being here at the very beginning.
Here's to growing, learning, dreaming, creating, and most importantly -
staying rooted. 🌿🤍
Welcome to The Rooted Life!
